IPONIGERIA only conducts formality examination and unity of invention examination for invention patent applications.
The initial protection is 5 years, which can be renewed twice, each time for 5 years, and the maximum protection can be 15 years.
- Licensing Fee: None.
- Annuity: The renewal fee must be paid within 12 months before the expiration of the first 5-year period. If the annual fee is overdue, it can be paid within a grace period of 6 months after the expiration, and a penalty must be paid at the same time.
