Lebanon issues new regulations for trademark registration

Lebanon has issued new regulations on trademark registration applications, effective from February 15, 2024. Key points include:

• The revised intellectual property registrar fees have been adjusted.
• The trademark protection period is shortened from 15 years to 10 years.
• Renewal requests must be made 10 years after the date of trademark registration.
• Late payment fees associated with the license agreement are subject to a penalty for every two months of delay.
• The new regulations will apply to all new and pending patent applications.
