Major changes in Yemen’s trademark application policy

The Yemeni Trademark Office (TMO) has implemented Ministerial Decision No. 52/2024 concerning major policy changes for trademark registration in Yemen.

The Yemen Trademark Office has removed the limit on the number of goods and services that can be included in a single trademark application, allowing trademark applicants to specify an unlimited number of goods in a single trademark registration application. However, any goods or services beyond the initial 10 will incur additional publication fees, and a 5% surcharge will be charged for each additional publication fee.

Yemen currently adopts the 12th edition of the Nice Classification and adopts a single class-based principle of protection.
