Bahrain and Japan sign Patent Prosecution High-Pressure (PPH) agreement

The Bahrain Intellectual Property Office and the Japan Patent Office (JPO) recently signed a bilateral Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) agreement, aiming to accelerate patent examinations and strengthen cooperation in the field of intellectual property. The PPH program, which will launch on January 1, 2026, will accelerate the patent application process.

Currently, Bahrain has signed Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) agreements with the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), the Saudi Arabian Intellectual Property Office (SAIP), the Oman Patent Office (OPO), and the Japan Patent Office (JPO).
