Peru, officially the Republic of Peru, is a country in western South America. It shares borders with Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia and Chile. The capital is Lima. Peru is a multi-ethnic country with a population of about 31.2 million. Peru is a presidential parliamentary democratic republic divided into 25 regions. It is a developing country with a high level of human development.
