Vietnam Profile

Vietnam, officially known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, is located in the easternmost part of the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. Its population ranks 13th in the world and 8th in Asia. It borders China to the north, Laos to the northwest, and the South China Sea to the east, sharing a maritime border with Malaysia. Its capital has always been Hanoi since the reunification of North and South Vietnam in 1976.
