The Republic of Costa Rica is a country in Central America, bordering Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south, and its capital is San Jose. Costa Rica is the first country in the world today to abolish its military. At present, Costa Rica is a country with better economic development in Central America and a higher standard of living. The country is also listed in the list of 2020 retirement livable countries by Forbes. The name Costa Rica means "rich coast" in Spanish.
