Accelerated examination procedure in patent applications in Kazakhstan

When filing a patent application in Kazakhstan, a request for accelerated examination may be made if the requirements of the Kazakhstan Patent Office in certain technical fields are met. At the request of the applicant, if the claimed invention is related to certain patent application objects, a request for accelerated examination may be made within 6 months from the date of examination. NIIP will complete the formal examination within 10 working days, the search report within 2 months, and the substantive examination within 3 months. The request for accelerated examination must be made at the same time as the new application is submitted, and the accelerated examination fee must be paid at the same time. If proof of fee payment is not submitted, it will be deemed not submitted, and the applicant will receive a notice of deemed non-submission within 5 working days. The calculation of the accelerated examination period for the application will be suspended until the necessary documents submitted by the applicant (including responses to notifications and examination requests, and confirmation documents of the corresponding payments) are received.

The technical fields for which accelerated examination may be requested include:
