How to write the priority number for Japanese patent application

Since 2004, in order to speed up the search and examination conducted at each IP office by using the search results of corresponding patent applications mutually, the trilateral offices (Japan Patent Office, European Patent Office and United States Patent and Trademark Office) have developed the "Dossier Access System" which allows users to access the examination information such as the file packages of each office. When referring to the examination-related information provided by other IP offices through the Dossier Access System, JPO examiners use the application number of the foreign application. In order to speed up the examination process, the JPO strongly recommends that applicants correctly describe the priority number as shown in the following table:
