USPTO Launches New Open Data Portal

On February 12, 2025, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) announced the launch of a new Open Data Portal (ODP) to provide users with a more convenient and faster data access experience. 3. Retirement of old systems: Considerations during the transition period
ODP will gradually replace the existing Patent Examination Data System (PEDS) and Bulk Data Storage System (BDSS). According to the USPTO's announcement, PEDS will be retained for at least 30 days after ODP goes online, while BDSS will be retained for at least 60 days.

4. Feedback and Subscription Updates: Interact with the USPTO
The USPTO encourages users to participate in upcoming feedback sessions and to submit questions and suggestions via email at data@uspto.gov. Users can also receive updates and event information through the Subscription Center.
