Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign city-state and island nation in Southeast Asia. It is located on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, 137 kilometers (85 miles) north of the equator, and shares a maritime border with Malaysia. Singapore has four official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil.
